Dr. Tanveer Majeed is a senior Cancer Surgeon with vast experience in Surgical Oncology [Thoracic, Hepatopancreaticobiliary & Gastrointestinal Oncology] besides being trained in Breast, Head & Neck, and Gynaec Oncology. After having completed Medical graduation [M.B.B.S] from Karnataka University Dharwad and Post Graduation in General Surgery [M.S Gen Surgery] from the University of Mumbai, he pursued and completed a 3-year residency training program in Surgical Oncology as Senior Registrar (I, II, III) followed by a 6-month Specialist Registrar in the Thoracic Oncology and 4-month Fellowship in Breast Oncology at the prestigious Tata Memorial Cancer & Research Centre, Mumbai. Further to quench his thirst in Thoracic Surgery he underwent One-year training in Thoracic Oncology and Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery at Asian Institute of Oncology - Fortis Raheja Hospital in Mumbai. He has also undergone fellowship training in Hepatopancreaticobiliary and Liver Transplantation at the Asian Centre for Liver Disease & Transplantation (Singapore) under the guidance of Pioneer World famous Liver Transplant Surgeon Dato - Tan Kai Chah at Asian Centre for Liver Disease & Transplantation Gleneagles Hospital Singapore. After his return to India, he joined the Tertiary Cancer Centre of Eastern India and successfully completed a Superspeciality training course leading to the award of the degree of Diplomate National Board [D.N.B. Surgical Oncology]. He has worked as a Consultant Surgical Oncologist Gastrointestinal, Hepatopancreaticobiliary, Thoracic, Gynec, Uro Oncology Services in the past. He has also trained various students during their tenure for the award of degree [D.N.B Surgical Oncology of National Board]. His areas of expertise include Gastrointestinal Oncology, Hepatopancreaticobiliary, and Thoracic Oncology although he has been trained extensively and can perform operations efficiently for Breast Cancer, Head Neck Cancer, and Gynaecological Cancers. He is a Faculty at the Prestigious CEMAST in Mumbai training young Surgeons for Thoracoscopy Procedures and Ethicon Institute of Endosurgery Mahim Mumbai for various surgical stapling techniques. He has performed more than 2000 complex supra-major cancer operations, of which nearly 700 procedures were complex supra major resections for Gastrointestinal, Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic, and Thoracic cancers. He has a number of Publications in various National & International Journals to his credit and authored chapters in textbooks of Surgical Oncology.
